VIRTUAL DESKTOP: Infrastructure Rising
“Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) has become an increasingly attractive technology for organizations grapping with cost control while trying to satisfy demands for IT consumeration. While most software vendors have continued to bolster their portfolio in the desktop virtualization space, a vast majority of firms in the middle east have made little attempt to virtualize their desktop infrastructure, presenting an opportunity for solution providers to help them.” – Piers Ford
Their are high expectation for the Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) market in the middle east as many hitherto reductant businesses and organisation realise its potential as a vehicle for modernising and streamlining the enterprise desktop environment – particularly as the BYOD phenomenon increases its grip on corporate ICT landscape.
Analyst IDC experts the EMEA virtual client computing market to grow from $804.9m last year to $1.181bn in 2018. The Middle East will be one of the fastest growing regions, catching up rapidly with more mature markets in Europe and North America.
